Cottage Grove recently hosted our third Family Discipleship Gathering to encourage and equip our families in the great call of discipling their families to know, love, and follow Jesus! This year the theme was all about discovering and establishing a strong and unique vision for our family to follow and accompanying values to guide us. Our desire is for Cottage Grove to be a place where families thrive as they live according to God’s Word which is why we are making the sessions from the FDG available for you to watch at home!
You can listen at your convenience to all of the sessions from the FDG and learn from all of our amazing speakers. Dr. Pierre Cannings taught two sessions teaching about the call for God’s people to pass down the commandments and precepts given by God to their children. Dr. Cannings was then joined by his wife Monica for a Q&A panel covering many topics about their life and their journey of family discipleship.
Additionally, Pastor Ikki and Tara Soma shared “Seven tips for the talk(s)”, encouraging us with wisdom from the Word of God on how we can disciple our children about the topic sex. They also shared wonderful wisdom on faithful parenting overall. Finally, Jen and Dan Webster taught a workshop on prayerfully discovering God’s unique purpose, values, and vision for your family. Their workshop will help you take the great call to lead your family and make it practical giving you simple and actionable next steps!
We also want to invite you to watch the recording from our 2022 Family Discipleship Gathering. In December 2022, Pastor Ikki spent a morning sharing with us the fundamentals of disciplining our children in a godly way as well as giving practical instruction for how to lead our families.
